Born in Fray Bentos, Uruguay, 1953. Lives and works in Paris. Pajaro Canzani entered the musical stage aged 17, winning the First Uruguayan Candombe festival and rapidly became something of a cult figure.
After a period in Brazil, he moved to Buenos Aires and joined the legendary Chilean group Los Jaivas. After the Argentinian coup d'état he settled in Paris, continuing to tour extensively world-wide. Since then, he has had a number one hit in his native country and has worked with luminaries such as Peter Gabriel and Malcolm McLaren.
